Current GCMR Club Newsletter - Newsletter Number 39 :: July 15, 2010
The July meeting will be held on Wednesday July 21 at 7:00 PM at the Granby Library community room. The agenda is full as you will note below, so please attend if you can.

Our kick-off event to start our drive to fund the construction of the Moffat Road Railroad Museum and its outdoor interpretive center had to be moved from July to August to accommodate our guest speaker. Reserve the new date on your calendar, Saturday August 21, 5:00 PM. We have 35 couples and individuals (those who don’t receive this newsletter) on our invitation list so far. If you know of people who should be invited because of their interest in historic preservation, railroads and/or model railroading and who are potential donors please get their names and addresses to Dave, Jack or Jim ASAP, since we will be addressing envelopes at our meeting next week. The invitation is ready to go to the printer. If you are a club member you will get an invitation with full details of time and place. If you are not a member and want to be included just let us know. Hors d’oeuvres will be provided by Brickhouse 40, wine and beer by R&J Liquors.

It is important that as many of us as possible make donations or pledges now so that we can show our level of commitment to the project. Gifts or pledges of any amount will be appreciated. Visit our web site to get details, information about the club and museum, the donation form, where to send the form and checks, etc. MoffatRoadRailroadMuseum.org donations have come in from 4 states so far, including New York. We hope that many large donors will be at the party, impressed by our progress, and willing to donate, so that construction can begin before the snow flies. We won’t have results from grant applications yet, but we are working on them.

Please come to the meeting on Wednesday evening and join in the excitement. We need help from everyone to make this wonderful venture happen.
