The Moffat Road Railroad Museum The museum is an ongoing process. Information will be updated as it becomes available. Let's Move the Car Down the Tracks - Museum Fundraiser Event We are holding a kick-off event to drive the fund for construction of the Moffat Road Railroad Museum and its outdoor interpretive center. The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 21, at 5:00pm. See our News & Events pg for details on the fundraiser. The Museum Building Still in the process of funding the building expenses, the museum will be an 8,000 sq. ft. building to house the Moffat Road Railroad Museum and "Moffat Road" Model Railroad - the Grand County Model Railroad Club’s display of the Denver & Northwestern Pacific R.R. from Denver, Colorado to Craig, Colorado circa: 1905 thru 1960’s. Once funding has reached its goal, the Moffat Road Railroad Museum will be built and operated by the Grand County Model Railroad Club, a 501(c)(3) Colorado not-for-profit corporation. Museum Location The museum will be next to Kaibab Park, located near the bridge at the southern entrance to Granby. Kaibab Park features two softball fields, one baseball field, a kids fishing pond with handicapped access, picnic shelter with four tables, a playground, and walking trail to the Fraser River. The museum will be situated in a fully landscaped area called the Railroad Interpretive Center, complete with outdoor life size displays of steam engine, caboose, railroad artifacts, etc., along with pathways, lights, and benches. It is a place where history, art, education, community involvement and pride can all come together. Donate Today Help make the museum a reality by donating today! Donations to the museum can be made online using paypal, or can be sent through the mail using our MRRM Building Fund Gift/Pledge Form. All donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. Donate Now! We are currently in need of a laptop for the museum and are looking for someone who can donate one. The museum is also looking for artifacts to display permanently or for a limited time exhibition.
