Let's Move the Car Down the Tracks - Museum Fundraiser Event
Our kick-off event to start our drive to fund the construction of the Moffat Road Railroad Museum and its outdoor interpretive center is scheduled for Saturday, August 21, at 5:00pm. The event will take place at Paul and Suzanne Gerhardt's with guest speaker Dennis Gallagher, Denver City Auditor. Musical guest Claddagh will entertain eveyone with irish melodies. Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served.

The Museum's First Project - 1905 Passenger Car Restoration
Through Ozark Mountain Railcar and a private owner, a 1905 Central Vermont Car has been donated to the Grand County Model Railroad Club to preserve and feature the car at the museum. The car was built in 1905 by the American Car & Foundry Company, who also built the same model for David Moffat's railroad. It will cost approximately $25,000 to move the car from Rhode Island to Granby. The cost of restoration is estimated at $30,000. Model Railroad Shows

We have participated in the 2nd Annual Railroad Days in Limon, as well as the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA) Train Show & Swap Meet in Colorado Springs. We also participated in the "TECO 5 Model Train Expo Colorado Springs" in April, which was a very successful networking and fundraising opportunity. Progress Report
Initial floor plans and 3D renderings have been started for the museum building, and can be viewed on the Museum Building Progress page, along with other progress information and photos. We are still in the fundraising process for the Moffat Road Railroad Museum Building Fund, so Donate Today.

We are offering a fun way to raise money by having sponsorship opportunities on various features of the model railroad depicting the "Moffat Road" which will be displayed on the second floor of the museum. Grand County Model Railroad Club & Newsletters
Once funding is in place for construction, the Moffat Road Railroad Museum will be built and operated by the Grand County Model Railroad Club, a 501(c)(3) Colorado not-for-profit corporation. You can become a member of the Grand County Model Railroad Club and help the Club accomplish different goals.
